Frequently asked questions

How do I upload and share a document?

Drag a file onto the upload box (or browse), choose your options, and press Upload. Copy the link and send it to anyone.

What file types and sizes are supported?

Up to 50 files per upload, each up to 100 MB. Formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, TXT, CSV, PNG, JPG, JPEG. Executables, scripts, HTML and SVG are always blocked.

How does expiration work?

Choose how long the link stays live. The countdown starts when the document is published. After expiry the file is permanently deleted.

How do download limits work?

Set a maximum number of downloads. Downloads are counted on the server, and when the last one is served the file is permanently deleted. Online previews don’t count.

What does “disable downloads” do?

The download button and download URL are disabled and viewers can only see the preview. It’s a deterrent — it can’t stop screenshots or copying. Formats without a browser preview can’t be viewed when downloads are off.

How does scheduled publishing work?

Pick a date, time and time zone. Until then the link shows “scheduled” and the file can’t be opened. The server enforces this.

Is my document private?

Links are random and unlisted, and search engines are told not to index them — but anyone with the link can open it, so treat it like a password.

How do I manage or delete a document?

Set an optional management username and password when uploading, then open /manage/<id>. Without them the upload is anonymous and can’t be managed or recovered; passwords can’t be reset.

Troubleshooting: my upload failed.

Check the file type and size, your connection, and that you haven’t exceeded 50 files. If it keeps failing, contact us.
